four letter words

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Four Letter Words is an installation made by Rob Seward.

It consists of four units, each capable of displaying all 26 letters of the alphabet with an arrangement of fluorescent lights. The piece displays an algorithmically generated word sequence, derived from a word association database developed by the University of South Florida between 1976 and 1998. The algorithms take into account word meaning, rhyme, letter sequencing, and association.

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

dutch artist Parra is on a roll lately. His recent project is this wooded headphone in collaboration with The Perfect Unison. The most interesting about these headphones is the construction. Made of brich, they are molded just like a skateboard. They will be sold at Parra’s Boo to the Hoo Show at the Lazydog Gallery in Paris.

fac off

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

Faç Off (FAC 258) is not only the title of Mancunian design trio Central Station’s forthcoming exhibition – it is a graphic they conjured up for a promotional T-shirt in 1990. “I remember Tony[Wilson]’s reaction when he asked what we’d come up with,” says Central Station’s Karen Jackson. “We showed him, he looked at it and said, ‘Fac off. Brilliant!’”
